To celebrate the National S’mores Day’s 100th anniversary, the Girl Scouts of the United States of America introduced two s’mores-inspired cookies – and one’s vegan.
The first cookie features a chocolate-coated graham cookie, in which the cookie is dipped in delicious crème icing and then in gooey chocolate. In addition, chocolate and s’mores lovers will be surprised to hear that it is not only vegan, but it is also free of preservatives, artificial colours and partially hydrogenated oils.
The second cookie, however, is like a sandwich, as it is made of two graham cookies with a delicious chocolate and marshmallow filling in between. Sadly, this one is not vegan, but those who have eliminated dairy from their diets can still enjoy the first cookie, previously described.
In addition, not only do these cookies look good, but they also represent the Girl Scouts.
Sylvia Acevedo, the interim CEO of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, said in a press release that the cookies show “the adventurous spirit, love of the outdoors, and feeling of community synonymous with Girl Scouts.”
The reason why the vegan s’mores-inspired cookie was introduced was as a response to “consumer trends.” This innovative creation – along with the other one – will be available in selected stores around the U.S. as of 2017.
Anyone who is interested can visit the Girl Scouts’ website, or follow them on any of their many social media profiles, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and more.
