The charming town of Limburg in Germany has decided to temporarily stop playing one of the many nursery rhymes their town hall bell plays after a local vegan complained.
The children’s folk song Fox, You Stole the Goose was one of the 33 songs played frequently from the town hall. It features a fox who steals a goose and is shot by the farmer.
The line “the hunter will get you with his gun” was what had offended the vegan animal rights activist.
According to an interview with a local press, Dr. Marius Hahn, the mayor of Limburg, believes that “there is no ideological motive behind this, but it is a temporary time-limit for a woman who works close to the town hall, listening to the clock every day – and is annoyed by the song.”
