Meatless meat is becoming a trend, and it has definitely made a statement in the Trader Joe’s 8th Annual Customer Choice Awards.
The popular chain recently released the results for their 2016 Customer Choice Awards, revealing soy chorizo as the winner in the “Favourite Meat” category.
Customers were allowed to vote between any meat product – plant-based or not – sold at Trader Joe’s locations. The first runner up was meatless meatballs, while animal products came after. It was and wasn’t surprising to see that a plant-base product made it first, considering the fact that vegan meat is on the rise.
Trader Joe’s is known for its variety of vegan options sold at its locations from dairy-free ice cream to plant-based meats and cheeses, candies, mayo and more.
Watch out everyone, since vegan meat alternatives are taking over the spotlight!
