Pret A Manger recently opened a second location of Veggie Pret in Shoreditch, London, following the success of their first location in Soho.
This new location features 20 new recipes on the menu, including a vegan version of their macaroni cheese and a dairy-free salted caramel brownie.
According to Chief executive Clive Schlee, their decision to open a second location in Shoreditch was because of the high number of vegetarian sales in the area.
“We opened our Veggie Pret pop-up as an experiment last year, never imagining it would be around for more than a month,” Schlee said.
“Customers have been asking for more vegetarian and vegan options and our chefs have been experimenting with new ingredients and flavours to meet the challenge.”
The Vegan Society spokesperson Dominika Piasecka realizes what an amazing benefit this location is for London residents, stating: “We are very pleased that Pret are recognizing the increasing demand for vegan food by opening a second Veggie Pret shop, this time permanently. As more customers learn about the ethical, environmental and health benefits of the vegan lifestyle, many businesses have been reacting positively by introducing vegan choices.”
Pret A Manger launched their first Veggie Pret location as a pop-up last year and turned it into a permanent location after high customer demand. Where’s Pret going to next? According to Schlee, they’re launching a “new veggie range” all the way in the US!
