Natural, sustainable leather-like material derived from the fibers of pineapple leaves is the creation of Dr. Carmen Hijosa.
Having worked in the leather industry, Dr. Hijosa started looking for an alternative; a more sustainable and more natural “leather”. So, after years of research, Piñatex was born.
The fibers are collected from the waste of plants and sent to a textile manufacturer in Spain to form Piñatex.

The beauty of Piñatex lies in being sustainable, a by-product of pineapple waste, very eco-friendly and green.
Piñatex is already used in the
manufacturing of Vegan leather shoes, handbags and accessories.
