Londoners, get ready for an epic event coming this September! London will be getting its first vegan, zero waste market, called Zero Mkt London.

According to a press release, the event “will involve zero animal products, zero single-use plastics and zero waste.” In addition, every featured item will be either edible, reusable, compostable, or recyclable.

According to co-founders Abigail Penny and James Morgan, this is a “celebration, where together we can bask in plant-based goodness, explore sustainable products, and begin to live more consciously.”

When asked about the inspiration behind this event, they added: “As consumers we can choose to have a positive impact on this world. We’re on a journey of discovery ourselves and want to share our experience with others. Animal agriculture, non-recyclable plastics, and throwaway fashion each have devastating impacts on our environment, so we hope that by bringing exciting alternatives to our community we can empower and equip others to change their habits and perspectives too!”

The event will take place on September 29 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Conservatory at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Kensington.

All profits will be donated to animal protection agency Animal Equality, and Zero Mkt London’s partner, City Harvest, will offer any leftover food to London’s homeless community.

Stallholders will be announced soon. For more information, follow Zero Mkt London on Instagram (@zeromktlondon), and to buy tickets, please click here.
