Forbes recently featured an article acknowledging the new cruelty-free fashion trend.
Writer Jim Dobson explained that due to increased demand for cruelty-free fashion from animal protection groups, many designers are heading a different direction and ruling out fur, leather, down and endangered skins from their designs. In addition, Dobson wrote that there are “remarkable gains” in developing textiles that are vegan, while specifically mentioning Piñatex, who creates vegan leather from pineapple leaves.
After considering these, Dobson created his own selection of his favourite cruelty-free designers, focusing on the ones who offer travel wear for men.
He showed this new trend through featuring faux leather vegan shoes, tote bags, a faux leather sleeping bag, jackets, a fur-free eyemask, boots, and more. He also saw a bright future for vegan fashion, considering the fact that Stella McCartney recently announced that she would be launching a vegan menswear line in 2017.
