Three animal activists are taking a long route from London, England all the way to Ulan Bator, Mongolia to raise money to help animals, taking part in the Mongol Rally.
Vegan Dan Friedman is leading team More Than Salad through 18 countries and covering over 10,000 square miles of land to complete the rally.
The Mongol Rally is an annual charitable event that is non-competitive. The rules are simple: you can take along a small vehicle, you have to compete on your own (with your team), and raise £1000 for charity.
Team More Than Salad is one of the many “competitors” in this event; however, their goal is to raise money to help animals.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to raise money for three organizations that are doing such dedicated and truly effective work on behalf of suffering animals,” Mr. Friedman told VegNews, recently.
The money that they raise will be donated to animal charities, such as Mercy for Animals, The Humane League and Animal Equality. So far, team More Than Salad has raised over $6,000 USD, about 66% of their $10,000 goal, and are hoping to raise thousands more to donate to their charities.
