It’s Time for Vegans to Visit Australia

SHARE

Last year, vegans were enjoying foodie trips to New York and cities around the UK to taste the amazing vegan flavours of local restaurants, in addition to shopping the cruelty-free looks, attending veg-friendly events, and just immersing into the vegan world. However, vegans have headed a completely different direction this year, travelling all the way to the other side of the world to Australia.

Home to koalas, kangaroos and a famous opera house, Australia has been a top travel destination for many travellers. However, its entire food scene has become more plant-based in the last six months alone and has attracted many vegan tourists. Here’s why:

Melbourne’s got the best vegan pizza

Back in January, Melburnians found out that they were being awarded with an all-vegan pizzeria. Located in Collingwood, Red Sparrow Pizza opened in February for all pizza-lovers alike. With its wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas and delicious desserts, it has received great reviews from both locals and tourists. Vegans, you wouldn’t want to miss out on this eatery next time you’re in Melbourne!

There’s vegan ice cream

Did you hear that? You scream, I scream, we all scream for vegan ice cream! This year, Sydney’s first vegan ice cream truck, called Over The Moo, launched, featuring many perfected coconut-based flavours. Not only can you try their delicious dairy-free ice cream, but you can taste their sundaes and vegan brownies as well.

There are all-vegan restaurants

Melbourne’s home to an all-new vegan eatery that promises delicious food plus the comfort. The Alley serves mouth watering veggie creations at affordable prices, including burgers, pasta, salads and more.

In addition to newly opened vegan eateries, Australia is also home to restaurants that have turned vegan. Last month, a Mexican and Latin American eatery in Sydney called Bad Hombres went vegan, now serving innovative plant-based dishes with an Asian twist. They even have a full vegan wine list, and with 5-out-of-5 star ratings, this restaurant is certainly worth the experience!

Australia’s home to the biggest vegan retail store

That’s right. Located in Melbourne, The Cruelty Free Shop sells thousands of vegan products, including cheeses, produce, baked goods, compassionate clothing, cruelty-free cosmetics, everyday items and local and international packaged food products. You can shop online or visit any of their locations.

With vegan pizza, comfort food, international cuisine and a retail store, it’s no wonder Australia’s booming in the tourism industry. If any vegan wants to visit this animal-friendly country, now would be the right time!
