Pret A Manger Launches Vegan Sandwich in Time for Christmas

Pret A Manger has just started to feature their Christmas Menu for 2016 – and they’ve added an all-new vegan option!

For the very first time, this UK-based sandwich shop has introduced a vegan sandwich for their Very Merry Christmas Lunch, called Very Merry Christmas Christmas Lunch Baguette. This mouth-watering creation is made with a stone baked baguette, layered with grilled carrots, parsnip puree and crispy onions, and then topped off with their very own festive chutney, freshly toasted pistachios and peppery watercress.

Last year, 750,000 customers enjoyed this restaurant’s Christmas Lunch, and have eagerly been waiting for it to return this year. Now, vegans and others alike can enjoy a nice meal with this new vegan sandwich.

In fact, this addition is just a part of the beginning of Pret A Manger’s exploration in vegetarian and vegan options.

Last year, this eatery launched an all-vegetarian pop-up in London, England called “Veggie Pret,” and CEO Clive Schlee decided to keep the shop open for some time after profits surpassed 100% of his expectations.

Schlee also announced in September that this successful pop-up got a tremendous amount of support.

“We have had over 20,000 customer comments in the past twelve weeks, and many of you have offered heartfelt thanks to Pret for making a bold move,” he said.

According to Schlee, “Even Sir Paul McCartney emailed.”

Now, you can come and try their new vegan sandwich, which will be available through the end of December at selected locations throughout the United Kingdom.
