Pittsburgh VegFest Takes Place This Weekend

The Pittsburgh VegFest 2016, presented by Justice For Animals, will be taking place on Saturday, July 30.

This event will feature guest speakers, as well as live demonstrations. The speakers include:

11:30 am – 11:40 am: Sharon Gregory – The Happy Vegan
12:10 pm – 1:15 pm: Dr. Keith Somers – Perdiatrician
12:55 pm – 1:15 pm: Leah Lizardo – 412 Food Rescue
1:45 pm – 2:15 pm: Jon Camp – The Humane League
2:45 pm – 3:05 pm: George Eisman, RD – Ethical Choices
3:35 pm – 3:45 pm: Rebeca Reid – Wildlife Speaker
4:15 pm – 4:25 pm: Vanessa Sweet and Butter – Nutrisionist

Demonstrations include:

Marissa Podany – Lifestyle coaching
Naturally Soergels
Yoga Hive Yoga Demo

Aside from speeches and demonstrations, the Pittsburgh VegFest will also feature guest musicians to add to the entertainment. People can also shop around and there will be plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained.

Many people have shown their interest in this event, as this year’s sponsors include WYEP/WESA, Whole Foods, Edible Allegheny, VegFund, Port Authority, A Well-Fed World, Western PA Humane Society, East End Food Co-op, First National Bank, Yoga Hive, Deutschtown Music Festival, Naturally Soergels, Green Mountain Energy and I Made It Market.

The event will take place at Allegheny Commons Park East from 11 am – 5 pm. Admission is free.
