Actress, model and longtime animal activist Pamela Anderson recently opened a vegan restaurant in the South of France.
Anderson’s first announcement was hidden in an article about her boyfriend, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is stuck in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, England. Anderson’s goal is to make political leaders believe in helping Assange become a free citizen again.
“I am reaching out to Emmanuel Macron, and to Brigitte Trogneux,” she writes. “As a residence of France, my adopted home, I would like to meet with you and discuss Julian’s situation. I am opening a new vegan restaurant in France in July, and I would like to extend the invitation to the President and his First Lady. Join me on the day I open the doors, and we will sit and eat good food and discuss what can be done for Julian. France could display its strength, and so could you, if you give Julian asylum.”
The opening of her restaurant, La Table du Marché, seems to be something quite personal; however, she gave an update on her website and announced that she would be bringing in someone else on her project, making us that much more excited.
To open her restaurant – which is only temporary – she partnered with chef Christophe Leroy to bring the vibrant place to life. It’s part of a country inn called Moulins de Ramatuelle, which is owned by chef Leroy.
“Pamela Anderson ‘a dream come true’ Christophe Leroy, organizer of the famous Nuit Blanche, opened the doors of the Moulins de Ramatuelle to imagine this new address with a magical decoration which, between a Champagne bar and 100% Vegan menu, will offer for 50 days to lovers of the Côte d’Azur a gourmet, chic and romantic alternative,” the update says.
La Table du Marché opened on July 4 and will be open every night – for 50 nights only – from 6 pm. Details:
