Hawaii is Getting its Own Wellness Resort

Vegan chef and entrepreneur Matthew Kenney is partering with plant-based living expert, Jacyn Fain, to launch a vegan retreat for one week in Kauai, HI.

The Matthew Kenney Wellness program will be located in a 1000-acre luxury club called Kukui’ula, set to open May 2017.

Guests can enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian island in seaside cottages with several unique amenities, including outdoor garden showers, gourmet kitchens, fire pits, and even outdoor gas grills.

The program itself consists of planned yoga and meditation for guests to relax, which will be followed by fun activities including swimming (who won’t go swimming in Hawaii?), stand-up paddle boarding and surfing lessons, hikes to enjoy Hawaii’s amazing views, island tours, farming/harvesting, ziplining, spa treatments, and even golf.

In addition, a 78-acre farm will be used to create 100% plant-based dishes with a Hawaiian twist created by Kenney himself and local chef Ben Takahashi.

“MK Wellness achieves our mission of shaping the future of wellness with a fully realized holistic lifestyle program,” Kenney said. “Combined with a delicious and beautiful plant-based diet, we believe we are providing an integrated experience like no other in the world.”

This is just one great addition to Kenney’s vegan empire. Last Friday, his latest vegan restaurant, Matthew Kenney MN, opened in luxury retail store Marcus Neiman’s Beverly Hills location. In addition, Kenney plans to to open up 10 more vegan restaurants next year and is hoping to expand his plant-based culinary schools to other destinations, including Paris, Barcelona, Sydney and London.
