Armani Is Going Fur-Free This Fall

Fashion designer Giorgio Armani stated in March that as of Fall 2016, his brand will be going 100% fur-free. With the fall season coming up soon, vegans and vegetarians are excited to see what gorgeous clothing products Armani has designed.

After working with the Humane Society of the United States, as well as the Fur Free Alliance, the brand had pledged to go fur-free.

Giorgio Armani stated: “I am pleased to announce that the Armani Group has made a firm commitment to abolish the use of animal fur in its collections. Technological progress made over the years allows us to have valid alternatives at our disposition that render the use of cruel practices unnecessary as regards animals. Pursuing the positive process undertaken long ago, my company is now taking a major step ahead, reflecting our attention to the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment and animals.”

The fashion industry is evolving, as many designers have decided to accept cruelty-free options. Last year, Hugo Boss announced that they are dedicated to treating animals in a kinder way by not only using fur-less materials, but also by banning the use of angora (down feathers taken from live and force-fed geese). They are also committed to using wool suppliers that are more “humane”.
